Assessment is by way of a combination of coursework and written examination. Foundation stage subjects are not counted towards the degree classification.

Guidance and Support
Students on this programme are encouraged to contact staff by mail, telephone, fax or e-mail. Each student is also assigned an individual Guidance Tutor who is there to help with any particular difficulties & to discuss the student’s progress in general.

Northumbria University

Northumbria University is a large metropolitan university. The extensive modularised curriculum is delivered to just over 23,500 students about 16,000 of whom are full-time. The remainder study in a wide range of part-time and short courses. The School of Law at the University of Northumbria is the largest law department in the north of England. It is renowned for providing excellent legal education and offers the most comprehensive portfolio of courses in the country, both undergraduate and postgraduate.
The School maintains close links with the legal profession and has been validated by both the Law Society of England and Wales and the Bar Council for Legal Education to run postgraduate vocational training courses for prospective barristers and solicitors.
The LLB Programme is usually 4-6 years in duration. Students receive a detailed study package for each subject studied. The main element is a study guide, the vast majority of which are written by tutors at the School of Law. In addition, students will receive a Points of Answer Guide and supplementary materials where appropriate, containing cases and articles. These are all provided within the fees of the Programme.

Entrance Requirements

In order to be registered for the LLB degree, you must:
be at least 17 years old and;
satisfy one of the following
*Passes in two subjects at 'A' Level + at least three subjects at GCSC or GCE ‘O’ Level(at not less than grade 'C')
*Passes in three subjects at 'A' Level + one further subject at GCSC or GCE 'O’ Level at grade 'C' or above.
*Passes in two subjects at 'A' Level + two further subjects at 'AS' Level;
*Minimum grade 'C' in English Language in 'O' Level or an acceptable score of TOEFEL/IELTS.
